The cost reduction of automobile stamping dies is approached, in conjunction with economics, technology and other aspects, in the following ways.
(1) Classification of mold material grades
In order for the automobile industry to be able to do away with any cost associated with stamping dies, then it has to prevent wastage of materials in the production process. The automobile industry can classify and grade stamping dies according to the quality of the stamping dies. In this way the automobile industry will be able to select stamping dies of varying grades so as to match the production requirements which would not only enhance the work efficiency of automobile production but also in a ways provide the automobiles with a greater production capacity. For instance, if the automobile industry wishes to contain the quantity of production, it can adjust the grade selection of stamping dies especially where economic losses would be huge.
(2) Monitor the uniformity of activities
When producing automobiles, the processes are highly dependent upon the use of stamping dies. Not only should the operators use standardized and operational tools, they should also be able to use stamping dies in a productive working manner. Production shops would be called upon to create hundreds of stamping dies and the cost of each would to add on the overall cost of each automobile produced. So the die making process must meet the requirement of the actual number of automobile dies required in the automobile industry. On the other hand, stamping dies that are no longer in use in the automobile industry can be recycled to enhance the material use efficiency and also the sustainability of the automobile industry. In relation to this, the automobile industry should see to it that the operators’ activities are carried out in a standardized manner in a bid to help the automobile industry in terms of cost management.
(3) Advanced optimization of a complete set of stamping dies
In order to boost stamping die usage during the production of automobiles, the automobile manufacturing sector has to modify its stamping die to curb the material wastage during production. So as to minimize the wastage of the production materials, the structure of the stamping die can be modified, so as increase the contact area between the stamping die and the material, which can be achieved mainly by fitting a double-slot track, which not only disperses the gravity on the stamping die but also enhances the efficiency of the stamping die thereby increasing the level of automobile production. In this case, the automotive industry has an opportunity to redesign the die in order to correspond with the actual production a as a way to maximize the cost cutting effect.
